A small, reef-sheltered beach within the bay of Anse Bois de Rose on Praslin's south coast, partly in front of Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites. The beach
Anse Cimitière lies within the wider bay of Anse Bois de Rose. SeyVillas describes a beach of 350 m by about 5 m in two sections separated by rocks: one in front of Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites, popular with its guests, and another that sees far fewer people. Badamier and takamaka trees give shade. Little is mapped here: OpenStreetMap has no outline for the beach, only a point named Anse Cimentiere (node 1307257359, last edited 26 August 2011), with the Anse Bois de Rose point about 380 m away in a straight line.
Which coast this is depends who you ask. Coco de Mer Hotel gives its address as Anse Bois de Rose and, on its home page, puts itself on “the south-west coast of Praslin”, while SeyVillas places Anse Cimitière “in the larger bay of Anse Bois de Rose in the south of Praslin”.
Getting there
The nearest SPTC stops are the pair named Coco de Mer Hotel, about 280 m away in a straight line, mapped on 16 November 2021 with no shelter tagged and tagged as part of route 62 only; the Beach Park pair, also route 62, is about 380 m away (OpenStreetMap). In SPTC's Praslin timetable 202 of November 2021, read through the Internet Archive, route 62 runs Mont Plaisir, the airport, Grand Anse, Consolation and the Baie Sainte Anne jetty, with five minutes allowed between Consolation and the jetty; the timetables SPTC publishes now cover Mahé routes only (checked 20 September 2026). Its Visitor Travel Card gives unlimited travel on standard buses on Mahé and Praslin from SCR 100 or EUR 5 for a day.
Coco de Mer Hotel puts the drive from Praslin airport at around 15 minutes and from the jetty at 10 minutes; in a straight line the airport is about 6.8 km away and the jetty about 2.6 km. No car park is mapped nearby, and SeyVillas reports limited parking by the road.
In the water
An offshore coral reef shelters the bay, keeping the water calm and shallow, which SeyVillas describes as suitable for families, with a normal tide and small waves. It rates the beach good for snorkelling and windsurfing, with equipment for hire nearby, and reports seaweed from May to October. That matches the Seychelles Meteorological Authority, which says beaches exposed to the south-east winds collect weed washed ashore between June and September, with the trades peaking in August and the sea rough; the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office says the east coast is unsafe during the south-east winds season, around May to September.
There is no lifeguard. Tourism Seychelles' Beach and Sea Safety Guide, second edition, says lifeguards are stationed only at Beau Vallon on Mahé and at Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or on Praslin, and gives 2529976 for the Seychelles Life Guard Services (checked 20 September 2026).
What is there
Nothing public that any source records. SeyVillas lists a WC and a restaurant among the beach's facilities, but OpenStreetMap maps no public toilets within 2.5 km and nothing at all on the sand; the nearest mapped shop is a convenience store about 1.5 km away and the nearest restaurant, Les Rochers, about 1.9 km (checked 20 September 2026). What there is belongs to the hotel behind: Mango Terrace Bar & Restaurant by the pool, The Hibiscus Restaurant, and The Black Parrot Bar & Lounge, which the hotel says is exclusive to its junior suite guests. It gives its guests free use of stand-up paddleboards and canoes, hires out snorkelling equipment and bicycles, runs a complimentary shuttle to Anse Lazio several times a week and guided nature walks, and says the hotel “is flanked by several small, quiet beaches in the bay of Anse Bois de Rose”. SeyVillas suggests checking at reception whether you may use the section in front of the hotel.
