Anse Marie-Louise
Anse Marie-Louise is a white-sand beach of about 380 m on Praslin's south-eastern tip, with the Fond Ferdinand reserve entrance, a free car park and bus stops on route 62 behind it. Le Château de Feuilles at Pointe Cabris is a few minutes' walk away. Little is published about currents or seaweed here, so ask before you swim.

Which Anse Marie-Louise
Two beaches share the name, and the better-documented one is not this one. Tourism Seychelles' own Anse Marie Louise entry describes a beach in the south-east of Mahé, next to Anse Forbans at Quatre Bornes, Takamaka (listing updated 29 September 2024); nothing in it applies to Praslin. The Praslin beach is on the island's south-eastern tip and is mapped as OpenStreetMap way 190431928, tagged natural=beach and sport=swimming, about 380 m between its furthest points in a straight line (last edited 3 September 2014).
Getting there
This is the stop for Fond Ferdinand, so the bus comes here. Two pairs of SPTC stops, Fond Ferdinand Beach Front 1 and 2, are mapped between about 90 m and 135 m from the beach, all on route 62, "Mont Plaisir via Consolation", which runs between Zimbabwe and Mont Plaisir (OpenStreetMap relation 13449330, last edited 2 December 2025). SPTC's timetable downloads cover Mahé routes only (sptc.sc, 20 September 2026), so check departure times locally. A car park about 280 m from the beach is tagged fee=no (way 1453554812, last edited 25 November 2025), with a second parking area mapped alongside it; that is the only free, mapped car park on this stretch of coast, and Anse Consolation, about 650 m south-west, has none.
Fond Ferdinand
The reserve entrance sits behind the beach. Tourism Seychelles lists Fond Ferdinand as an attraction run by the Seychelles Islands Foundation, with coordinates about 60 m from the ticket office mapped in OpenStreetMap and a rate of SCR 270 to SCR 300 (listing updated 7 September 2026). That ticket office, about 290 m from the beach, is tagged fee=yes with a charge of SCR 300 (node 4414970495, last edited 9 April 2026). The Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority does not list Fond Ferdinand among the parks and trails whose fees it publishes, and the two figures above do not agree, so confirm the price when you arrive. A gate on the path up is tagged locked and closed to vehicles (node 11050933700).
What is there
A beach volleyball court and a football pitch were added to the map beside the beach in April 2026, about 90 m and 110 m from the sand (ways 1497947913 and 1497947914). No toilets, restaurant or cafe is mapped within 700 m; the nearest shop is a convenience shop about 450 m south-west, towards Anse Consolation (way 115790324, surveyed in 2011). Le Château de Feuilles at Pointe Cabris, about 600 m east-north-east, describes the beach as white, fine sand a few minutes' walk from the property and a peaceful place to swim, and gives Seychelles water temperatures of about 27°C with visibility often above 30 m.
Before you go
There is no lifeguard: the Tourism Department's Beach and Sea Safety Guide stations them only at Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or, and gives the Seychelles Life Guard Services on 2529976 for advice on whether a beach is safe to swim. The Seychelles Meteorological Authority says beaches facing south and south-east collect weed washed ashore between June and September, during the south-east trades. Little else is published about currents or the state of the path down, so ask where you are staying.

There is no lifeguard and no warning sign: the Tourism Department's Beach and Sea Safety Guide stations lifeguards only at Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or, and gives 2529976 for advice on whether a beach is safe. The UK FCDO says beaches can be safe at some times of the year and dangerous at others. Ask locally about currents, depth and weed before going in.
