About the guide
An independent guide to Praslin and La Digue, built from named sources and dated checks, to help you choose where to stay and plan the days between.
Praslin & La Digue is a guide to two islands in the Seychelles: where to stay on each, which beaches suit what, what there is to do, and how to get there and between them. It is written to help you choose, then book with the facts in front of you.
What the guide covers
- Places to stay on both islands, from resorts and hotels to family-run guesthouses, villas and self-catering apartments.
- Beaches, with what each is like for swimming, snorkelling and getting there.
- Things to do, from the Vallée de Mai to boat trips, diving and cycling on La Digue.
- Getting there and around: flights and ferries from Mahé, the crossing between the islands, car hire on Praslin and bicycles on La Digue.
- Side-by-side comparisons for deciding which island, or which mix of the two, suits your trip.
Where the facts come from
Every page is built from named sources: the property's own website, the Seychelles Tourism Board, operators such as the ferry companies and the Seychelles Islands Foundation, government notices and published reporting. The sources are listed at the foot of each page with the date they were checked, and each page shows when its details were last verified.
The guide is researched from those sources, not from overnight stays, so it does not publish reviews or scores of its own. Where it quotes a guest rating or a price, it names the site it was seen on and the date, and takes it down once it is out of date. Opening hours, fees, timetables and island rules change; pages say when they were checked, and where sources disagree the page says so rather than picking one.
The maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data. Distances measured on the map are marked as straight-line distances, because the road is always longer.
How the guide is paid for
Some booking buttons are affiliate links. If you book through one, the guide may earn a commission from the booking site at no extra cost to you. A place to stay is listed whether or not it has a booking link, nobody pays to appear, and there is no sponsored content. The affiliate disclosure explains how the links work.
Who runs it
Praslin & La Digue is run by Charnette Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales that builds and runs websites. It is independent of the hotels, operators and booking sites it describes. The company's registered details are at the foot of this page.
