Anse Bois de Rose
A small, shaded cove in the bay of the same name on Praslin's south coast, behind an offshore reef. Awkward to reach, with private property and no-trespassing signs alongside; calm water for snorkelling and seaweed from May to November.
The beach
Anse Bois de Rose is a small cove within the larger bay of the same name on Praslin's south coast, which also holds Anse Cimitière. An offshore coral reef shelters it from the open ocean, and trees provide shade.
Getting there
This is the main obstacle. SeyVillas says there is a road and a bus stop nearby, but reaching the sand means climbing down from the road. Private property borders other parts of the beach, with signs forbidding trespassing, so do not cut through gardens or grounds. As a result the cove rarely has visitors.
In the water
The water is shallow and calm, with small waves, and the reef gives the bay good snorkelling. SeyVillas reports seaweed from May to November, and says the beach can disappear at high tide.
Who it suits
Visitors who want a quiet cove and can manage the climb down from the road. SeyVillas notes that many visitors choose one of the easier beaches nearby.
