Anse Bois de Rose
A small, shaded cove in the bay of the same name on Praslin's south coast, behind an offshore reef. Awkward to reach - private property and no-trespassing signs alongside, and a climb down from the road - with calm water for snorkelling and weed from May to November. Route 62 stops about 240 m away.

The beach
Anse Bois de Rose is a small cove within the larger bay of the same name on Praslin's south coast, which also holds Anse Cimitière about 380 m west-north-west. An offshore coral reef shelters it from the open ocean, and trees provide shade. OpenStreetMap maps the bay but not the sand - there is no mapped beach outline within a kilometre of the bay node (node 1413265014) - so published measurements of its length are not something the map can settle.
Coco de Mer Hotel and Black Parrot Suites, about 480 m north-west, gives its address as Anse Bois de Rose and puts itself on Praslin's south-west coast in more than 80 hectares of grounds. The tour operator Expert Africa says the hotel runs along nearly 2 km of Anse Bois de Rose coastline, which is why the name covers far more shoreline than this cove.
Getting there
Two SPTC platforms named Beach Park are mapped about 240 m and 255 m from the bay node, on route 62, "Mont Plaisir via Consolation", which runs between Zimbabwe and Mont Plaisir (nodes 9257945060 and 9257902108, last edited 16 November 2021; relation 13449330, last edited 2 December 2025); the next stop along towards Grand Anse is named Coco de Mer Hotel. SPTC's timetable downloads cover Mahé routes only (sptc.sc, 20 September 2026), so check departure times locally. The coast road passes about 230 m away, tagged 40 km/h with a practical speed of 30 km/h (way 689235746, last edited 26 May 2024).
Getting from the road to the sand is the obstacle. SeyVillas says it means climbing down, because private property borders the rest of the beach with signs forbidding trespassing. Nothing is published about the state of that climb, and no path down is mapped. Do not cut through gardens or grounds. The Beach Control Act, Chapter 14, defines a beach as any part of the seashore, and the seashore as the land alternately covered and uncovered by the sea at the highest and lowest tides; its regulations apply to every beach in Seychelles. That is what the law governs, not a right of way down to it.
In the water
The water is shallow and calm behind the reef, with small waves, and SeyVillas rates the cove good for snorkelling. It also says the beach can disappear at high tide, and reports weed from May to November. The Seychelles Meteorological Authority's September 2026 tide table ran from a low of 0.4 m to a high of 2.0 m, so about 1.6 m between the month's extremes; the Authority puts weed on south and south-east facing beaches between June and September, during the south-east trades.
There is no lifeguard and no warning sign: the Tourism Department's Beach and Sea Safety Guide stations lifeguards only at Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or, and gives the Seychelles Life Guard Services on 2529976 for advice on whether a beach is safe. Under the Beach Control Regulations, motor boats and water skis are barred within 400 feet of the shoreline except when approaching or leaving it.
Who it suits
Visitors who want a quiet cove and can manage the climb down. No toilets, shop, cafe or car park is mapped within a kilometre; apart from the hotel and the route 62 stops there is only a nature-trail viewpoint, about 910 m east-south-east. Anse Consolation is about 1.1 km east-south-east in a straight line, with a bus stop beside it and a shop nearby.
