The beach
Anse St Sauveur is a small beach on Praslin's south coast, along the shore from Anse Bateau and Anse Cimitière. Coconut palms lean out over the sand, giving plenty of shade, and on clear days Mahé is visible in the distance. Tourism Seychelles notes that it is usually visited in passing, so it is often empty; its listing puts the beach in the Grand Anse district (record updated 29 September 2024).
Getting there
SeyVillas and Tourism Seychelles both mention parking nearby and bus stops on the main road. The stops are on SPTC route 62, "Mont Plaisir via Consolation": Yassad Apartment about 300 m from the bay's mapped centre and Flamboyant about 400 m, each tagged on OpenStreetMap as having no shelter, no bench, no bin and no lighting (nodes 9257902112 and 9257902111, last edited in June 2022; both belong to route relation 13449331, last edited 2 December 2025, the Mont Plaisir to Zimbabwe direction). No car park and no toilets are mapped within a kilometre (OpenStreetMap, 20 September 2026). SPTC publishes no Praslin timetable, its August 2026 download covering Mahé routes only, but sells a Visitor Travel Card valid on Mahé and Praslin from SCR 100 or EUR 5 a day (sptc.sc, 20 September 2026). Properties on the beach give different drive times: Peax Villa says 15 minutes from either Praslin airport or the Baie Ste Anne jetty, while Villa St Sauveur says 20 minutes from the airport and 15 from the jetty (tourism board records updated 20 February and 26 March 2026).
In the water
The water is calm and shallow with little current or wave action, which SeyVillas and Tourism Seychelles describe as suitable for families and less confident swimmers. La Pointe Beach Huts, whose own site puts the beach a two-minute walk from the property, also calls the water calm and shallow and good for swimming and snorkelling; the same site gives the distance as 100 m in one place and 200 m in another (lapointehuts.com, 20 September 2026). The coral reef offshore is good for snorkelling, and the beach is used for fishing, with fishing equipment available to rent.
Seasons
Timing matters here. SeyVillas reports that the beaches in this area can fill with seaweed between May and October. Outside those months it describes clear water and white sand. The Seychelles Meteorological Authority's climate guide says beaches exposed to the south-east winds, on the south and south-east coasts, collect weed washed ashore between June and September, while the sheltered west and north-west coasts are more pleasant then; it puts the trades at their peak in August with rough seas and April at its calmest. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office says beaches can be safe for swimming at some times of the year and dangerous at others, that there are not many lifeguards and that beaches do not always carry safety information (checked 20 September 2026).

Les Rochers is mapped about 450 m away in a straight line; the restaurant's own listing gives its address as La Pointe, opens for evenings Tuesday to Saturday, asks for a reservation and lists +248 4233803 (les-rochers-restaurant-seychelles.koek.sc, 20 September 2026). SeyVillas mentions a few small shops nearby, and La Pointe Beach Huts says the nearest shops and mini markets are at Grand Anse, 3 km away.
Nearby
The Glacis Noir trail, about 1.9 km away in a straight line, is the one official trail in the park and the one that charges: the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority gives Rs100 for non-residents above 12, opening daily 8am to 4pm, and a maximum walking time of one hour from the main road to the fire tower at the top (spga.gov.sc, 20 September 2026). It runs inside the 324-hectare Praslin National Park, established in 1979, which encloses the Vallée de Mai, 2.4 km from the beach in a straight line.
