Anse Citron
A quiet strip of sand on Praslin's south-west coast, east of Fond de l'Anse, with water only centimetres deep and views of Cousin and Cousine at sunset. Too shallow to swim; seaweed through the year; roadside parking only.
The beach
Anse Citron is a small, usually deserted beach on Praslin's south-west coast, along from Fond de l'Anse and Anse Takamaka. Takamaka trees stand between the sand and the road and provide shade, and the view looks across to Cousin and Cousine.
Getting there
SeyVillas says there is no nearby bus stop and only limited roadside parking, with no designated spaces. It is within walking distance of accommodation further along the coast.
In the water
The water here is extremely shallow, only a few centimetres even at low tide according to SeyVillas, which makes swimming impossible but keeps it safe for small children to paddle. SeyVillas reports seaweed throughout the year.
Who it suits
With no facilities and no swimming, Anse Citron works for a picnic or a late-afternoon stop to watch the sun set behind Cousin and Cousine. SeyVillas also mentions an old house nearby whose occupant tends a vegetable garden.
