Anse Citron
A quiet strip of sand on Praslin's south-west coast, east of Fond de l'Anse, with water only centimetres deep and a view west to Cousin. Too shallow to swim, weed through the year, roadside parking only - but route 62 stops about 125 m away (OpenStreetMap).

The beach
Anse Citron is a small, usually deserted beach on Praslin's south-west coast, along from Fond de l'Anse and about 900 m up the coast from Anse Bateau in a straight line. Takamaka trees stand between the sand and the road and give shade, and SeyVillas recommends it as a late-afternoon picnic stop for the sunset behind Cousin and Cousine; OpenStreetMap puts Cousin about 6.7 km west (way 27576586). The map names the bay but not the sand: the nearest mapped beach polygon lies about 40 m from the bay node and carries no name (node 1413265031, way 301663909). SeyVillas also mentions an old house nearby whose occupant tends a vegetable garden.
Getting there
SeyVillas says there is no nearby bus stop. OpenStreetMap disagrees: two SPTC platforms named Gertrude Pointe are mapped about 125 m and 185 m from the bay, both on route 62, "Mont Plaisir via Consolation", which runs between Zimbabwe and Mont Plaisir (nodes 9257945054 and 9257902114, last edited 16 November 2021; relation 13449330, last edited 2 December 2025). SPTC's timetable downloads cover Mahé routes only (sptc.sc, 20 September 2026), so check departure times locally.
The Grand'Anse Praslin - Baie Sainte Anne Road runs about 95 m behind the beach, tagged 40 km/h with a practical speed of 30 km/h (way 689234491, last edited 26 May 2024). SeyVillas says parking is limited to the roadside with no designated spaces; driving or parking on the beach itself needs the written consent of the Commissioner of Police under regulation 19 of the Beach Control Regulations.
The quarry
OpenStreetMap maps a quarry called UCPS about 410 m inland to the south-east, between Anse Citron and Anse Bateau (way 1042562638, last edited 22 March 2022). seychelles.cc, writing about this beach, says there is a quarry behind it that may or may not be in use during a visit; SeyVillas attributes the noise to Anse Bateau instead. Either way, the workings sit between the two beaches.
In the water
The water is only a few centimetres deep even at low tide, according to SeyVillas, which makes swimming impossible but leaves it safe for small children to paddle. SeyVillas reports weed throughout the year; the Seychelles Meteorological Authority says beaches facing south and south-east collect weed washed ashore between June and September, during the south-east trades. There is no lifeguard and no warning sign here: the Tourism Department's Beach and Sea Safety Guide stations lifeguards only at Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or.
Food and what is near
Nothing is mapped on the beach. Breeze Garden at Grand Anse, about 630 m away, tells the Seychelles tourism registry it opens daily from 11.30am to 10pm and runs a night pick-up and drop-off service (listing updated 1 October 2024). Palm Beach Hotel and the Le Kato Noir restaurant mapped beside it lie about a kilometre due north (nodes 5861257366 and 2810623379), and two guest houses, O-La-La and Jominaro, are mapped within 420 m.
