The beach

Anse Boudin runs for close to a kilometre along the north-east coast, looking out to Curieuse, about 1.25 km offshore in a straight line - the shortest crossing from any of Praslin's north-coast beaches. Anse Takamaka begins about 40 m beyond its eastern end. Fishermen anchor their boats in the shallows, and SeyVillas mentions Saturday football on the sand. The shoreline is on the southern boundary of the Curieuse Marine National Park, named in the park's 1979 designation order.

Getting there

The coastal road runs alongside, mapped as a concrete-surfaced secondary road with a practical speed of 30 km/h, and two car parks sit behind the beach, about 31 m and 35 m from the sand, both open to the public and one tagged free (OpenStreetMap, checked 20 September 2026). Anse Lazio Road, the way over the hill, starts about 307 m from the beach in a straight line and is mapped as a tertiary road with a solid surface (tracktype grade1) and a 30% incline (way 308553188, last edited 26 August 2025).

Two bus stops sit at the sand's edge: Langar Pirogue about 10 m away and Jardin Beach about 13 m, both in a straight line. Anse Boudin Turning Point, which has a bench and a shelter, is about 306 m in a straight line. OpenStreetMap's mapping of SPTC routes 61 (Mont Plaisir via Vallée de Mai) and 62 (Mont Plaisir via Consolation) runs both through all three in both directions, and puts two further stops beyond them - Maison Du Soleil Hilltop and Zimbabwe Turning Point, both inland of the beach (relations last edited 2 December 2025). That conflicts with seychelles.cc, which describes Anse Boudin as the last bus stop, so ask the driver where the bus turns. SPTC publishes timetables for Mahé routes only, so confirm Praslin times locally; its visitor travel cards start at SCR 100 for a day (SPTC, checked 20 September 2026), and the UK FCDO says most public buses do not run after 20:00 (updated 21 January 2026).

What is there

Palmier Bistro Restaurant & Bar is on the Anse Boudin shore, open Tuesday to Sunday 11:59 to 22:00 and closed Mondays, with meals listed at SCR 200 to 600 (Tourism Seychelles listing, updated 28 January 2026, checked 20 September 2026). PK's @ Pasquière Restaurant & Pub is mapped about 78 m from the sand and a convenience shop about 76 m, and the ruins of the old Anse Boudin police station and clinic, with an information board, about 10 m; the shop and the board were last edited in OpenStreetMap in 2014, so check they are still there. Loyalty Charter, a licensed boat operator based at Anse Boudin, runs full-day trips to Curieuse and St Pierre and includes land pick-up for up to ten guests from Praslin accommodation (Tourism Seychelles listing, updated 2 September 2026). SeyVillas mentions an excursion counter selling trips to Curieuse and Cousin. No public toilets, showers or drinking water are mapped at the beach (OpenStreetMap, checked 20 September 2026).

In the water

The water is very shallow, especially at low tide, but deepens quickly away from the sandy patches, so children should not stray far. SeyVillas says it is safe for children to swim and play near the shore, and names Anse Boudin among Praslin's top snorkelling spots. The OpenStreetMap contributor who last edited the beach, on 27 January 2022, recorded it as "swimming at low water only in select places, snorkeling is fine"; the Seychelles Meteorological Authority's September 2026 tide table gives low waters of 0.4 m to 1.0 m and high waters of 1.0 m to 2.0 m. Seaweed arrives on this coast from time to time; SeyVillas says the waves usually carry it away before it settles, while seychelles.cc describes it washing onto Praslin's northern beaches regularly. There is no lifeguard: Tourism Seychelles states that lifeguards are stationed at Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or only.

Park rules

Regulation 5 of the Beach Control Regulations bars motor boats and water-skiing within 400 feet of the seashore except in a marked lane. Under regulation 3 of the 1991 Curieuse Marine National Park regulations, taking or disturbing any animal, its eggs or shells, disturbing or removing any plant, or removing sand, soil or rock carries a fine of R 2,000 and twelve months' imprisonment.

Swimming

Very shallow, especially at low tide, but the water deepens quickly away from the sandy areas, so children should stay close in (SeyVillas). The OpenStreetMap contributor who last edited the beach, on 27 January 2022, recorded it as "swimming at low water only in select places, snorkeling is fine"; the Seychelles Meteorological Authority's tide table for September 2026 gives low waters of 0.4 m to 1.0 m and high waters of 1.0 m to 2.0 m. Seaweed is usually washed away quickly (SeyVillas), though seychelles.cc says seaweed washes onto Praslin's northern beaches regularly. Snorkelling

SeyVillas lists Anse Boudin among the top snorkelling spots around Praslin, and the OpenStreetMap contributor who last edited the beach, on 27 January 2022, recorded that snorkelling here is fine while swimming works only at low water in places. Curieuse is about 1.25 km offshore in a straight line, the shortest crossing from any of Praslin's north-coast beaches, and Loyalty Charter runs boat trips there from Anse Boudin (Tourism Seychelles listing, updated 2 September 2026).
