Anse Lazio

No direct bus. SPTC route 61 runs from Mont Plaisir through Vallée de Mai and Côte d'Or to Anse Boudin, and route 62 reaches Anse Boudin from the Baie Sainte Anne jetty; those are the routes in SPTC's Praslin timetable no. 202, revision November 2021, the most recent Praslin timetable published on sptc.sc, and the corporation's August 2026 timetables cover Mahé routes only, so confirm times locally (checked 20 September 2026). seychelles.cc says to take the bus to its last stop at Anse Boudin and walk over the steep hill; from Anse Boudin village to the beach is about 1.1 km measured along the mapped road, which is recorded as asphalt, unlit and with a 30% incline (OpenStreetMap, checked 20 September 2026). SPTC visitor travel cards for standard bus services cost SCR 100 for one day, SCR 198 for four days and SCR 363 for eight, sold at its information desk and the Airtel kiosk at the airport (SPTC, checked 20 September 2026). The UK FCDO says most public buses in Seychelles do not run after 8pm and that where a taxi has no meter you should agree the fare first (updated 21 January 2026). By car there are three parking areas behind the tree line (SeyVillas), though parking can be limited at times (seychelles.cc); OpenStreetMap also maps three car parks, one of them recorded as charging a fee, last edited 10 November 2025; no rate is published in any source cited here. A marked hiking trail of 3.24 km (about two hours, medium difficulty, 120 m up and down) connects Anse Lazio with Anse Georgette, starting from a path to the left of the beach (SeyVillas hiking guide). Tourism Seychelles describes the drive from Anse Volbert as long and winding.

Restaurants and a small shop: SeyVillas lists a small shop and restaurants at each end of the beach, and a self-service bar overlooking a small cove where customers pay for what they take. Mabuya Beach Restaurant (previously Bonbon Plume) is listed with Tourism Seychelles at Anse Lazio, the listing last updated 26 March 2026 and still active on 20 September 2026; in 2017 the Seychelles News Agency described Bonbon Plume as one of two restaurants on the beach. OpenStreetMap records Mabuya's toilets as being for customers and the building as not wheelchair accessible, and maps a second restaurant, a self-service bar, a souvenir shop and a waste disposal point at the beach; it maps no public toilet block (checked 20 September 2026). Lifeguards: the Seychelles Maritime Safety Administration said in 2017 there was a permanent lifeguard presence; Tourism Seychelles said on 27 June 2024 that the Seychelles Fire and Rescue Services Agency is responsible for lifeguard operations and that its lifeguards had intensified monitoring of the area; OpenStreetMap maps a lifeguard base and tower attributed to that agency, added in January 2023; SeyVillas says a lifeguard is sometimes present; a Story Seychelles guide dated December 2025 says there are none. Current lifeguard cover is unconfirmed.

Not protected by a coral reef (Wikipedia) and the water deepens quickly, so children and weaker swimmers should stay close to shore (SeyVillas); seychelles.cc describes the depth as good for swimming with waves usually low. During the north-west monsoon, large waves reach the beach and damaged the former swimmer nets (Seychelles Maritime Safety Administration, via Seychelles News Agency, 2017). The UK FCDO says that in general the west coast is unsafe during the north-west monsoon, around December to March, that beaches do not always carry safety information and that there are not many lifeguards, though some are stationed on popular beaches (updated 21 January 2026). The Seychelles Meteorological Authority's climate guide puts the peak of the north-west monsoon in January, weakening through March, and says the west and north-west coast beaches are the more pleasant ones between June and September (meteo.sc, checked 20 September 2026). Two fatal shark attacks occurred in the bay in August 2011; nets were later removed, with lifeguards and offshore drum lines cited as the measures in place in 2017. Whether lifeguards are on duty now is unconfirmed: Tourism Seychelles said on 27 June 2024 that Fire and Rescue Services Agency lifeguards had intensified monitoring of the area, OpenStreetMap maps a lifeguard base and tower added in January 2023, SeyVillas says sometimes, and a December 2025 Story Seychelles guide says there are none. Motor boats and water skis must stay more than 400 feet from the seashore under the Beach Control Regulations (Beach Control Act, Chapter 14, subsidiary legislation, Department of Environment). Wikipedia records it as a non-motorised beach as of 2024.

SeyVillas names Anse Lazio among the top snorkelling spots around Praslin and describes good visibility in clear water. On timing, the Seychelles Meteorological Authority's climate guide puts the south-east trades at their peak in August, with seas already rough in July, while the north-west monsoon, which brings large waves to this coast, peaks in January and starts to weaken in March (meteo.sc, checked 20 September 2026).
