Anse Pasquière

Anse Pasquière is a very shallow bay on Praslin's north-east coast between Anse Boudin and Anse Possession, too shallow for swimming but good for spotting herons and fish on the sandbanks at low tide. It lies on the Curieuse Marine National Park boundary, with parking bays cut into the forest and bus stops nearby.

The beach

Anse Pasquière lies on Praslin's north-east coast between Anse Boudin and Anse Possession, looking out to Curieuse. The official park designation calls the bay Baie Pasquière and runs the Curieuse Marine National Park boundary along its shore.

Getting there

Parking spaces are cut into the forest beside the road, and bus stops line the adjacent road. Some hotels are within walking distance.

In the water

The water is too shallow for swimming. SeyVillas says it is safe for families and suits snorkelling, and local families come for weekend picnics.

Wildlife

The western end draws fish and birds, including grey herons and green-backed herons feeding in the shallows. Sandbanks appear at low tide, which is the easiest time to watch them, and SeyVillas says anglers use the banks for fly-fishing then. Tourism Seychelles describes the bay as a biodiversity hotspot. Because the bay is part of the marine park, regulations prohibit taking or disturbing animals, shells or plants and removing sand.

Swimming

Very shallow water, too shallow to swim in, with very high and low tides and sandbanks exposed at low tide (SeyVillas); Tourism Seychelles also says the low water is not ideal for swimming. On the Curieuse Marine National Park boundary, where disturbing marine life or removing shells and sand is prohibited (Designation Order and Regulations).

Snorkelling

SeyVillas describes the bay as suited to snorkelling despite the shallow water.
