Why stay here

Sibert Residence is a small, family-run guesthouse in La Passe, the harbour village on La Digue. The owners say the family has been hosting guests for more than twenty years. The Tourism Department's certified list of November 2022 names it Moonlight Beach Villa, and the current register listing reads "Siberte Residence (Ex Moonlight Beach Villa)".

There are ten rooms in two types, Superior and Deluxe. All have a king-size bed, and the Deluxe rooms add a single daybed. Continental breakfast, daily housekeeping and wifi are included, and half board can be added.

The guesthouse runs Nature's Choice A'LaKart, a Creole restaurant and bar that also serves non-residents. It arranges bicycle hire, boat trips and buggy tours of the island, and its website lists the Moonlight Craft Curios shop, which sells handmade Creole crafts.

Getting there

The owners put the jetty about a five-minute ride away. La Digue is mostly explored by bike or on foot, and the guesthouse hires out bicycles.

Before you book

SeyVillas describes the rooms as simple and lists some with a mountain rather than a sea view. The owners set a minimum stay of two nights, or three in peak season, and their room occupancy covers children aged 6 to 11. SeyVillas says the property is not suited to guests with reduced mobility, and that seaweed can wash up on the beach between November and March.
