Hotels on La Digue
Hotels on La Digue are mostly on the west coast, around La Passe and Anse Réunion. The tourism board lists 10 hotels and 28 guesthouses on the island and classes none as a resort.
What is on offer
On 16 September 2026 the tourism board's website listed 10 hotels and 28 guesthouses on La Digue, alongside 51 self-catering properties, with none classed as resorts. Only one La Digue listing carried a star rating in its data: La Digue Island Lodge, at three stars.
The hotels vary in size. Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie at Anse Sévère is listed with 63 villas and has a spa. La Digue Island Lodge, the island's first hotel, was built in 1973 on the beach at Anse Réunion. Le Nautique Luxury Waterfront Hotel in La Passe has 10 rooms.
Where the hotels are
The tourism board notes that most La Digue hotels are on the west coast, which it contrasts with the wilder east. La Passe has the jetty and most bike hire. Anse Réunion is closest to L'Union Estate and Anse Source d'Argent. Anse Sévère and Anse Patates are in the north.
How to choose
- Arrival: La Digue has no airport, so plan the ferry and the transfer from the jetty. Taxis are limited; Le Nautique, for example, offers guests a golf buggy from the jetty.
- Bikes: many hotels and guesthouses keep bikes for guests. Check the price and whether e-bikes are available. Under the 2022 transport policy, bicycles must be licensed and insured and e-bike riders must wear helmets. Amendments approved in March 2024 limit e-bikes to 300 W, bar riders under 16 and require helmets for children under 14 on bicycles.
- Meals: the tourism board listed 29 food and drink businesses on La Digue on the same date, so ask whether breakfast or dinner is included.
- Season: UK government travel advice (checked 16 September 2026) says west coasts are generally unsafe for swimming around December to March.
