Pension Citadelle

Pension Citadelle is a small, owner-run guesthouse in La Passe, the village around La Digue's jetty, in what the owners describe as a quiet residential area. The house holds two apartments, one on the ground floor and one upstairs.

Each apartment is about 40 m² and has a bedroom, an en-suite bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen and air conditioning. The owners hire out bicycles, which is how most visitors get around the island. Housekeeping is daily.

The owners describe the setting as a way to see local island life. SeyVillas says the house sits slightly raised in its garden, a short walk from the harbour.

Couples or a small family who want a simple self-catering base in La Passe and are happy to cycle to the beaches.

Self-catering. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave and refrigerator. There is no restaurant on site; SeyVillas lists Fish Trap, about 450 m away, as the nearest restaurant.

The owners say the closest beach is about a five-minute bicycle ride away. SeyVillas gives Anse Sévère at about 1 km and Anse Réunion at about 1.2 km.

In a residential part of La Passe, close to the village centre and jetty. It is about 550 m in a straight line from the La Digue ferry terminal. The owners describe the location as a good base for exploring both the north and south of the island.

La Passe jetty is the arrival point for ferries from Praslin and Mahé. A guest review on the owners' website says the house is not easy to reach on foot from the jetty and suggests taking one of the lifts offered at the jetty. Bicycles can be hired at the guesthouse.

Not on the beach. The owners say the closest beach is about a five-minute bicycle ride away, and SeyVillas lists Anse Sévère at about 1 km and Anse Réunion at about 1.2 km. SeyVillas says the property is not suitable for guests with reduced mobility. The owners' website says cancellation is free up to two weeks before arrival, with a 100% fee after that. The neighbourhood is residential. Guest reviews on the owners' website and SeyVillas mention crowing roosters, and a 2026 SeyVillas review also mentions barking dogs and loud neighbours.
