Diving around Praslin and La Digue

Dive centres

• Whitetip Divers: on the beach at Côte d'Or, Anse Volbert, offering first-time Discover Scuba dives and courses.
• Octopus Dive Centre: at Côte d'Or, offering courses including Nitrox certification.
• UDive Centre Praslin: at Constance Lemuria, Anse Kerlan. The tourism board lists it as a PADI 5-Star centre with a pool for first-time divers, choosing sites by weather and skill level.

The tourism board's excursions article says dive centres operate on La Digue as well as Praslin. On La Digue, Azzura Dive Center, part of La Digue Island Lodge, describes itself as a certified PADI dive centre. It was not among the tourism board's tour listings on 16 September 2026.

Dive sites

• Ave Maria: granite rocks form canyons underwater, to a maximum of 20 m, with reef fish, rays and parrotfish. The tourism board says sharks and turtles are not uncommon, and the site suits snorkellers too.
• Curieuse: the Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority names the Coral Gardens and Pointe Rouge for dives.
• St Pierre: 5 minutes by boat from Curieuse, used for snorkelling and diving.
• Off Anse Kerlan: Constance Lemuria describes granite reefs and wreck sites near the resort.

When to dive

Sources disagree. One tourism board article gives March to May and September to November as its preferred snorkelling periods, while its best-time article recommends May to October for calmer seas and better visibility. The Seychelles Meteorological Authority calls April the calmest month at sea and describes rough seas in July and August. Dive centres choose sites according to the conditions on the day.

Rules

Dives inside a marine national park need a park ticket for non-residents over 12, which operators normally include (SPGA, checked 16 September 2026). Park regulations ban taking shells, coral or marine life, and the Seychelles Fishing Authority says spearguns are prohibited in all fisheries.
