Petite Anse Kerlan
A small beach beside Constance Lemuria on Praslin's north-west tip, used mostly by resort guests. Shallow, calm water with little or no seaweed. Arrive by boat, walk the coast from Anse Kerlan at low tide, or ask the resort before crossing its grounds on foot. Everything on it belongs to the resort, and there is no lifeguard.

The beach
Petite Anse Kerlan is a short beach on Praslin's north-west tip, framed by boulders and overhanging coconut palms. SeyVillas gives it as 220 m by 10 m; the OpenStreetMap outline (way 127372660, last edited 23 August 2011) measures about 180 m between its furthest points. Constance Lemuria sits right behind it, and both SeyVillas and Tourism Seychelles say the beach is used almost entirely by the resort's guests. Castello Beach Hotel, further along the coast, places it in a small bay behind the Lemuria beach bar. Anse Georgette lies behind the rocks at its far end, about 610 m away in a straight line on the OpenStreetMap points, or 544 m by SeyVillas' measure.
Getting there
On land you cross resort property. SeyVillas says non-residents can park at the resort entrance and should get permission from staff before walking through; arriving by boat does not require permission. Castello Beach Hotel describes a third way in: the section of about 950 steps between Anse Kerlan and the resort can be walked along the coastline at low tide.
The Beach Control Act (Cap 14) defines a beach as any part of the seashore, and the seashore as the land alternately covered and uncovered at the highest and lowest tides, which is what the Act and its regulations govern. The Act is a power for the Minister to make regulations and says nothing about access across the land behind that strip.
The nearest SPTC stops, the Lemuria Junction pair on routes 61, 62 and 63, are about 1.0 km away in a straight line (OpenStreetMap, mapped 16 November 2021). Praslin Island Airport is about 2.9 km away and the Baie Sainte Anne jetty about 11.0 km. SPTC's published timetables cover Mahé routes only (checked 20 September 2026); its Visitor Travel Card gives unlimited travel on standard buses on Mahé and Praslin from SCR 100 or EUR 5 for a day.
In the water
SeyVillas and Tourism Seychelles describe shallow, calm water with little to no seaweed, suitable for families with children. The depth increases gradually, and the sand can occasionally disappear at high tide.
There is no lifeguard here or at any Seychelles beach other than Beau Vallon, Anse Lazio and Côte d'Or, and Tourism Seychelles' Beach and Sea Safety Guide, second edition, lists a safety warning sign at the boat house at Lemuria Resort, Anse Kerlans (checked 20 September 2026). The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office says the west coast is unsafe during the north-west monsoon, around December to March; the Seychelles Meteorological Authority says the sheltered west and north-west beaches are the more pleasant between June and September.
What is there
Everything is the resort's. Constance Lemuria lists among its complimentary facilities snorkelling, kayaks, windsurfing, Hobie sailing, pedalos, body boards, mountain bikes, two floodlit tennis courts, an Eco-Kiosk and the 18-hole golf course (Par 70, 5,611 m, green fees complimentary for hotel guests, club cars compulsory and payable); scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, lessons, private excursions and guided snorkelling are charged (resort site, Internet Archive copy of 17 January 2025). Its restaurants and bars are The Legend, Diva, The Nest, Takamaka, Huna Bar, Diva Bar and the Legend Pool Bar. Udive Centre Praslin, the PADI five-star dive centre at the resort, tells Tourism Seychelles that external visitors are welcome and not only resort guests (listing updated 17 February 2026). SeyVillas lists a WC and a restaurant among the beach's facilities; OpenStreetMap maps no public toilets within 1.5 km (checked 20 September 2026).
A viewpoint named for the beach is mapped about 340 m away at 100 m elevation (OpenStreetMap node 6400712185, 16 November 2021).
