Veuve Special Reserve

The Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority lists the Veuve Special Reserve at Anse Réunion. It covers 21 ha of a 200 ha plateau on the island's western side and was set up to give the Seychelles black paradise flycatcher a place to breed and feed. The reserve opened in 1982 and was legally designated in 1991. Staff help visitors find the birds, and the reserve is also home to the Seychelles sunbird, Seychelles bulbul and Seychelles terrapins. About 1,000 international visitors come each year. It opens Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 16:00 and Saturday from 9:00 to 15:00, with entry at SCR 150 for non-citizens, or SCR 200 for a guided tour (Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, checked 16 September 2026).
