L'Union

L'Union is in the south-west of La Digue. OpenStreetMap places Anse Source d'Argent within it. The area is best known for L'Union Estate, a former plantation that the estate says is about a 15-minute bike ride from the jetty.

L'Union Estate

The estate's landmarks, which it says are recognised as national monuments, include the former plantation house, the Old Pier and La Digue's oldest cemetery. The estate says visitors can also see the copra kiln, the ox-driven copra mill, rows of vanilla vines and Aldabra giant tortoises. A Takamaka Rum showroom and tasting bar opened in late 2025.

The estate opens daily from 6:00 to 18:00, including public holidays. Entry for foreign nationals is SCR 150 for the day, or for the next day if bought after 16:30, and stays of more than five days qualify for a special rate (L'Union Estate, checked 16 September 2026).

Beaches

Anse Source d'Argent is reached through the estate, and the tourism board lists it among the busiest beaches in Seychelles. Transparent-kayak trips run from here. About 1 km south, Anse Pierrot has shallow water and shade but can disappear at high tide. Anse Marron, at the southern tip, has a sheltered pool, but the tourism board describes the path as slippery, advises booking a guide and does not recommend bringing children.
