Praslin airport and jetty to your hotel
Flights land at Praslin Island Airport on the west coast and ferries arrive at the jetty in Baie Sainte Anne on the east, 8.7 km apart in a straight line. From either, you reach your hotel by taxi, a transfer arranged in advance, a hire car or, with small bags only, an SPTC bus. How each works, how far each bay is, and how to get to Anse Lazio.
Where you arrive
- By air: Air Seychelles flies from Mahé to Praslin Island Airport at Grand Anse in 15 minutes (Air Seychelles, checked 16 September 2026).
- By sea: Cat Cocos ferries from Mahé and La Digue, and Cat Rose from La Digue, use the jetty at Baie Sainte Anne. Departure times are on the guide's ferries page.
The airport and the jetty are 8.7 km apart in a straight line, measured between their OpenStreetMap coordinates. The road between them is longer.
How far each bay is
Anse Kerlan and Grand Anse are the bays nearest the airport; Baie Sainte Anne and Côte d'Or are nearest the jetty.
| Area | From the airport | From the jetty |
|---|---|---|
| Anse Kerlan | 1.2 km | 9.6 km |
| Grand Anse | 2.9 km | 5.9 km |
| Côte d'Or and Anse Volbert | 6.2 km | 3.9 km |
| Baie Sainte Anne | 9.1 km | 700 m |
| Anse Lazio | 3.3 km | 9.3 km |
Distances are in a straight line from the point the guide stores for each area to the OpenStreetMap points for the airport and the jetty. They show which arrival point is closer, not how far you will drive. Property pages in the guide give their own straight-line distances to both.
By taxi
Taxis work on Praslin, and the operators the guide lists are further down this page. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office says taxis in Seychelles are generally of a good standard, and that meters are increasingly common but, if a taxi has none, you should agree a fare before starting your journey (GOV.UK, read 12 October 2026).
The guide found no fare for an airport or jetty transfer published by a taxi operator or an official source, so it quotes none. Ask for the price when you book.
You can also book an airport taxi in advance through Booking.com; the link is in the booking links on this page.
By a transfer from your hotel
Some places to stay arrange their own collection from the airport or the jetty. A property page in the guide shows "Airport transfer" where a source confirms one, so check the page for your stay and ask when you book.
By bus
The Seychelles Public Transport Corporation (SPTC) runs public buses on Praslin. Route 61 on its Praslin timetable no. 202 lists stops at the airport, Grand Anse, Vallée de Mai, the Baie Sainte Anne jetty, Côte d'Or and Anse Boudin. That timetable is the November 2021 revision, read through the Internet Archive on 12 October 2026; the weekday and weekend timetables on SPTC's site, effective 4 August 2026, do not mention Praslin (read 12 October 2026). The guide gives no bus times for that reason. Confirm them locally.
- Luggage: Tourism Seychelles says SPTC buses take only luggage that fits on your lap or under your seat (checked 16 September 2026). With suitcases, use a taxi, a transfer or a hire car.
- Paying: SPTC sells a Visitor Travel Card for standard bus services on Mahé and Praslin at SCR 100 (€5) for one day, SCR 198 (€12) for four consecutive days and SCR 363 (€22) for eight. It lists its Information Desk and the Airtel kiosk at the airport as places to get one (SPTC, read 12 October 2026). SPTC's page gives no single cash fare.
- Hours: the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office says buses are cheap but infrequent on some routes, and that most public buses do not operate after 8pm (GOV.UK, read 12 October 2026).
By hire car
Praslin has local car hire companies. The guide's car hire page lists them and covers licences, age limits and the roads.
How to get to Anse Lazio
Anse Lazio is on the north-west tip of Praslin and is reached by road: by taxi or hire car to the car parks behind the beach, or by bus to Anse Boudin and then on foot. No bus goes to the beach itself.
- By taxi or car: Tourism Seychelles describes the drive from Anse Volbert as long and winding (checked 16 September 2026). OpenStreetMap maps three car parks at the beach, one recorded as charging a fee, with no rate published (checked 20 September 2026).
- By bus and on foot: SPTC route 61 runs from Mont Plaisir past the airport, Grand Anse, Vallée de Mai and Côte d'Or to Anse Boudin (Praslin timetable no. 202, November 2021 revision, read 12 October 2026). From Anse Boudin village the beach is about 1.1 km along the mapped road, which OpenStreetMap records as asphalt, unlit and with a 30% incline (checked 20 September 2026).
- How far: the beach is 3.3 km from the airport and 9.3 km from the jetty in a straight line; the road is longer.
The guide's Anse Lazio page covers the beach itself: seasons, safety and where to eat.

Questions
- How do I get from Praslin airport to my hotel?
- By taxi, by a transfer your hotel arranges, by hire car or, with small bags only, by SPTC bus. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advises agreeing the fare before you set off if a taxi has no meter (GOV.UK, read 12 October 2026).
- How far is Praslin airport from the ferry jetty?
- About 8.7 km in a straight line, measured between the OpenStreetMap points for Praslin Island Airport and the Baie Sainte Anne jetty. The airport is on the west coast and the jetty on the east, so the road is longer.
- Is there a bus from Praslin airport or the jetty?
- SPTC route 61 lists stops at the airport and at the Baie Sainte Anne jetty on its Praslin timetable no. 202, the November 2021 revision (read 12 October 2026). Tourism Seychelles says buses take only luggage that fits on your lap or under your seat (checked 16 September 2026), so a bus does not suit an arrival with suitcases.
- How much is a taxi from Praslin airport?
- The guide found no fare published by a taxi operator or an official source, so it quotes none. Ask for the price when you book, and agree it before you set off if the taxi has no meter.
- How do I get to Anse Lazio from the airport or the jetty?
- By road. Take a taxi or hire car to the car parks behind the beach, or SPTC route 61 to Anse Boudin and walk about 1.1 km along a steep, unlit road (OpenStreetMap, checked 20 September 2026). Anse Lazio is 3.3 km from the airport and 9.3 km from the jetty in a straight line.
