What each island offers couples

On Praslin, Raffles Seychelles at Anse Takamaka has 87 private pool villas set between the hillside and a beachfront garden, and Constance Lemuria at Anse Kerlan has villas with private pools and describes its course as the only 18-hole championship golf course in Seychelles. The tourism board's 2025 luxury resorts article includes both among its five-star picks and calls Raffles family- and honeymooner-approved.

La Digue has no accommodation classed as a resort on the tourism board's website. Its larger properties include Le Domaine de L'Orangeraie at Anse Sévère, which has pool villas, a 485 m² Presidential Villa with a private infinity pool and the Eden Rock Spa among boulders on the hillside. At the smaller end, the tourism board lists Le Nautique Luxury Waterfront Hotel in La Passe with 10 rooms. The tourism board's La Digue article describes the island as a destination for weddings and honeymooners.

Getting married

Weddings are registered by Civil Status, which has offices on Praslin and La Digue as well as Mahé. Banns are published for 11 days before the date, or a couple can apply for a marriage licence to marry sooner, for a fee of SCR 500 (Civil Status, checked 16 September 2026). The tourism board's 2026 wedding guide puts the civil fee at SCR 3,000 (checked 16 September 2026) when both partners are foreigners marrying on Mahé, Praslin or La Digue, and says the certificate is issued within 24 hours for two foreigners.

The tourism board says almost every hotel has a wedding or honeymoon package, and that most wedding packages include registrar fees, a decorated arch, a dinner and a cake, with extras such as photographers charged separately. On La Digue, the island's one remaining ox cart is used mainly for weddings.

Days out together

From Praslin, couples can walk the Vallée de Mai, take the 20-minute boat ride to Curieuse or spend a morning on Cousin. The tourism board suggests Anse Takamaka, on Praslin's north-east coast, for couples marking an occasion.

From La Digue, L'Union Estate is a 15-minute bike ride from the jetty and leads to Anse Source d'Argent, where transparent-kayak tours start. The tourism board's honeymoon article recommends early morning or late afternoon for photographs among the granite boulders.

Choose Praslin if…

• You want a resort with a private pool villa.
• You would rather fly from Mahé than take a boat after a long-haul flight.
• You want golf, a large spa or several restaurants on site.
• You want to walk in the Vallée de Mai together.

Choose La Digue if…

• You prefer small hotels and guesthouses to large resorts.
• You want to cycle between beaches rather than drive.
• You want Anse Source d'Argent and L'Union Estate a short ride away.
• You like the idea of an ox cart on your wedding day.
